This is my first Chat as your Chairman and as this Newsletter is coming out after Christmas I hope that you have all enjoyed a good one. Unfortunately we’ve not had a very good start to the rallying year. The AGM had to be held as a Saturday meeting only, due to conditions set by the County Council. We had to cancel the Halloween Rally as the new management at the site outpriced the cost of a rally, not only that we didn’t have any Rally Officers to run the rally. Rye Bonfire Rally went ahead and was enjoyed by all who attended. The Dinner Dance was cancelled by the venue and although we tried to find another venue, most of them were taken up with the backlog of weddings. Hopefully we will be able to hold a Dinner Dance next year, fingers crossed. The Christmas Party at Seaford Head was held and Father Christmas did visit, it was nice to see everyone enjoy themselves. We will continue to run rallies within any guidance from Club and the Government. Most of our members will have not only
had their initial COVID jabs, but also their booster by now, but please still respect the wishes of
our members and give space where needed. The Noggin ‘n’ Natter is our next event in January, this is
a social evening only, followed closely by the Blue Nose Rally, this is always a very popular rally.
In February we have CAMC Gatwick (no rally officers yet) and Seaford Head School. Then in March Willingdon School (again no rally officers yet) and St Richard RC College, Bexhill. In April we’re at Hole Park, Rolvenden, then it’s Easter at Royal Victoria Park, Netley (again no rally officers for these two rallies) Please consider putting your name down to run a rally, or we may find ourselves in the position of having to cancel rallies again, if you are a first time rally officer there’s always someone who can assist and give advice. Please contact the Rally Secretary for details.
Sandy & I look forward to seeing you out
on some of our rallies this year.
